Hi Malibu Strings fans,
I hope you enjoy this little pictorial! My hubby was with a group of other photographers as they were talking about this location. Some heard of it, others did not, mostly it was just rumors. Well, off goes hubby and he did some research to find this old retreat camp on the shores of the waters. It took some doing but he found it. It was first built in the late 1800’s and added onto for the decades that follow. It met its demise in the 90’s by a massive fire. The remaining buildings and cabins were torn down with only the foundations, concrete paths and stairs, a graffiti wall, and an all-brick water pump house (where these pics were taken) remain.
It was a mile and a half hike to a location on the beach that remains hidden by a few trees and tall beach grass. It is literally about a 100 ft from the waterline with just enough natural coverage to keep it hidden. On our hike we ran into some locals and asked them if they knew of the camp. Oddly they did not which is a testament on how well nature has kept this secret for the last few decades. It becomes obvious that some people have found it by all the beautiful graffiti that adds to its charm. Our pictorial is mainly at the pump house located right on the beach edge and one from the Cayman’s. I chose to wear several different versions of the Malibu Strings Nauti Girl Neon Pink suit. I do have some additional pictures taken deep in the camp at the graffiti wall where it was very cold at the time, brrr. You can see one or two of those in my album, more to come!
Enjoy and Cheers, Malibu Barbie Girl
